Learnings & Updates — Closed Alpha Week 2

Despite being affected by degraded Solana performance to the extent that we canceled two of our four sessions, we still consider Week 2 of Closed Alpha a success. In the two sessions held, 84% of players defeated the Phantom Bot, and 16% lost — not bad!

Our team is now at a place where we have gathered enough feedback to dive back into game development full time, so the next stage of Alpha will be the best experience possible. Consequently, this will be our third and final week of Closed Alpha! Here are some of the changes we are implementing in preparation for Thursday.

Game update

Bug: When observing the TMP amount in the ‘Win 8 Races = Bonus’ section of the Arena screen, the TMP amount says 16400 TMP instead of 15000 TMP.

Bug: The mouse cursor status does not change when hovering on clickable items on the race page.

Bug: When hit by ‘Stun’ while having a Firewall shield, the shield VFX disappears, even though the player still has some points left in the shield bar.

Bug: Sometimes, picking up the pulse cell does not collect them.

Status: Updates deployed and ready for testing; however, we are still monitoring.

Bug: When playing in windowed mode, once the game has loaded, clicking the ‘Play’ button forces full-screen mode.

Bug: Clicking on ‘Game Settings’ for the first time forces the game to go full screen.

Status: Updates deployed and ready for final testing.

Bug: Toggling the Screen Resolution setting forces the game to go full screen.

Status: Updates deployed and ready for final testing.

Bug: After winning a tournament (8 wins), the TMP tokens are not awarded in the winner’s wallet.

Status: Solution in progress.

We also noticed a few instances of degraded performance on various Macbook hardware variations. We are still investigating, but have confirmed that the issue is not related to the hardware or the build not being optimized, but rather something unique that happens with Mac architecture.
